DIY Set

The DIY Set is where we supply the two basic components at the heart of  The HoloDesk ™ – the Interactive technology and the Display Screen polymer.

The HoloDesk ™ DIY is available in two formats – Assembled and Unassembled.

We leave it up to you to build your own floor stand and source your own projector. We do have two options and an additional service we offer for DIYselfers. Assembled DIY Format and Un-assembled DIY Format

Assembled DIY Format

In this format we build the Screen Surface for you using 10mm substrate. All you need to do is mount it onto your stand.

Option One

Edgeless Interactive Screen. If you want the The HoloDesk ™ to have the illusion of  a display to be interactive and without any black borders or frame then the I.C.E. Capacitance Laminate is for you. We bond this touch surface technology to the 10mm  clear “glass like substrate” along with one of the three projection display polymers. The substrate we use is virtually unbreakable and can withstand being dropped or walked on. It has been selected to with stand the rigors of  being transported. The I.C.E. Capacitance Laminate is both Single and Dual Touch and is determined by the software drivers.

When you receive The HoloDesk ™ it is ready for you to mount on to the floor stand of your making. We have a universal plan drawings we make available that your local engineering company can fabricate for you or you might have your own ideas for a stand.

Option Two

iQRite Frame Interactive Screen. This solution has a slightly different look . A 24mmW x 11mH frame is placed around the edge of  the “glass like substrate”.  Within this and separated from the frame by 50mm of transparency or more is a digital image displayed which is the designated interactive area.  The iQRite frame is attached to the  10mm  clear “glass like substrate” along with one of the three Projection display polymers. The substrate we use is virtually unbreakable and can withstand being dropped or walked on. It has been selected to with stand the rigors of  being transported. The iQRite Interactive Touch Frame comes in three versions – Single Touch, Dual Touch and Multi Touch. This is determined by the external touch controller which is a small enclosure connected to the screen. Note that the iQRite Touch frame can be easily upgraed from Single to Multi touch etc, simply by upgrading the controller. If the software you plan to use is only designed for a single mouse click at a time then we recommend you purchase the Single Touch. If you want the flexibility of two actions simultaneously then we recommend that you select the Dual Touch option.

When you receive The HoloDesk ™ it is ready for you to mount on to the floor stand of your making. We have a plan drawing we make available that your local engineering company can fabricate for you. You  might also have your own ideas for a stand.

Un-assembled DIY Format

Option One

In this format we ship you The HoloDesk ™ Surface interactive and display screen components. You are required to bond the I.C.E. Capacitance Laminate and Display Polymer to a substrate of your choosing.

The bonding process does require some confidence, ability and technique. We can not warrant the quality of installation if you do this process yourself. We recommend this solution only if you are a very capable DIY selfer.  However, if you are capable you can make some savings and reduce the principle cost of your HoloDesk ™.

Option One

Edgeless Interactive Screen. For this option we will ship to you with all the components required in two separate tubes. One tube will measure 130mm dia x 2000mmL (maximum L for the 74″ Screen). The other containing your screen polymer will ship in a tube measuring 100mm dia x 1000mmL. You will need to source a 10mm substrate for mounting onto at your end.

When you receive the two tubes of components you need to laminate onto the 6mm substrate you will source. Once you have completed this manual laminating process you will then be ready for you to mount on to the floor stand of your making.

Option Two

iQRite Frame Interactive Screen. For this option we will ship to you with all the components required in two separate tubes. One tube will measure 130mm dia x 2000mmL (maximum L for the 74″ Screen). The other containing your screen polymer will ship in a tube measuring 100mm dia x 1000mmL. You will need to source a 10mm substrate for your screen from your local supplier.

When you receive the two tubes of components you will need to laminate the Screen display polymer onto the 10mm substrate you will source. Next you would assemble the iQRite Interactive Touch frame and attach to the 10mm substrate. We supply all the components and materials you need for this step. Once you have completed this manual assembly and screen laminating process, you will then be ready for you to mount the screen on to the floor stand of your making.
